About the Project

Indigo River provided waterfront consulting services to a private client for their residence in Orangetown, New York in Rockland County. Indigo River prepared construction documents and both environmental and construction permits for a new dock and repairs the existing seawall at the site, which would protect the site from waves, wake, and storm surge and enable access for water-dependent recreation activities.

Indigo River performed due diligence on the site by collecting existing documentation and permits, coordinating a hydrographic survey, and completing visual inspections of the project site and surrounding structures. After these initial investigations, Indigo prepared signed and sealed construction documents for the proposed waterfront structures. While advancing the design, Inigo also prepared the required environmental permit applications. As this project stretched across local, state, and federal jurisdictions, coordination was required with multiple agencies. Indigo River developed, on behalf of the Owner, all required permit documents and submitted a Joint Permit Application to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), New York Department of State (DOS), and New York State Office of General Services (OGS), obtaining the required permits from each agency. Coordination with the Town of Orangetown for their review and approval of the proposed dock was also conducted. Additionally, Indigo River provided technical support for the administration of the permit throughout the application process.
