About the Project
Indigo River provided waterfront consulting services to a private client for their residence in Nyack, New York in Rockland County. Indigo River prepared environmental and construction permits for a new dock and repairs the existing seawall at the site, which would protect the site from waves, wake, and storm surge and enable access for water-dependent recreation activities.
Indigo River performed due diligence on the site by collecting existing documentation and permits, coordinating a hydrographic survey, and completing visual inspections of the project site and surrounding structures. After these initial investigations, Indigo worked with the engineer tasked with designing the proposed waterfront structures to ensure the proposed project and resulting scope of the construction work were accurately captured and described in the permit applications. As this project stretched across local, state, and federal jurisdictions, coordination was required with multiple agencies. Indigo River developed, on behalf of the Owner, all required permit documents and submitted a Joint Permit Application to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), New York Department of State (DOS), and New York State Office of General Services (OGS), obtaining the required permits from each agency. Coordination with the Village of South Nyack for their review and approval of the proposed dock was also conducted. Additionally, Indigo River provided technical support for the administration of the permit throughout the application process.
